Laurie Ahlemann, E-RYT500
Laurie was certified at the 500-hour level in ISHTA Yoga, has been teaching group yoga & meditation classes for 13 years and has been leading yoga trainings and mentorships since 2007. In addition, she is certified in Yin Yoga through Corina Benner of Wake Up Yoga, PA. She teaches a class that is energetically balanced and consists of anatomical and breath oriented focus that lends itself well to teaching to various age brackets as well as modifying for injuries and level of ability. Each class focuses on how to properly align the body to create easefulness and strength in the physical postures while creating a safe space for students to move deeper into awareness of movement and mindfulness.
Laurie studied Anatomy and the Philosophy of Breath under Leslie Kaminoff at the Breathing Project as well as Jason R. Brown of ASFYT in NYC. She also completed an online anatomy course with David Keil. She attended the Brahma Kumaris Spiritual Center for two years and studied Bhakti Sastri through the Bhaktivedanta College. These principals are applied in her guided meditation classes. Laurie is also a Reiki Master and a Master/Teacher of Magnified Healing.
Laurie’s goal with every class she teaches is to bring awareness to the wisdom of the body by building upon the anatomical principles of movement. This enables students to take these principles and apply them to all kinesthetic practices. Laurie adapts her teaching methods based upon the learning style, level of ability and range of motion of each student she works with both in group and private settings. Her intention is to help guide and nurture each student on their life path wherever it is meant to take them.
